병원에서 사용하는 영어 종합편
★ have는 eat나 drink를 대신해서 잘쓴다.
그러나 “약을 먹다, 혹은 복용하다"는 take 를 쓴다.
Take these pills after meal. (식사후에 이 알약들을 복용 하세요.)
★ “~가 아프다”고 말할때는 have 를 주로 쓴다.
I have pain in my shoulder. (어깨가 아파요)
I have chills. (오한이 나요)
★ "~가 아프세요?"라고 물어볼 때도 have를 주로 쓴다.
Do you have a cold? (감기에 걸렸어요?)
Do you have any pain? (어디가 아프세요?)
Do you feel chilly? (한기를 느끼세요?)
대답은 물론 Yes I have. 호은 No I haven't식.으로 하면된다.
★ Catch (get) a cold는 “감기들다/걸리다”를 말하는 상태의 변화를 이야기 하는 것이고,
have a cold는 “감기가 걸려있다”는 상태를 말하는 표현이다.
★ "의사에게 진찰받다”는 뜻의 영어는 See a doctor 이다.
★ make an appointment 는 “예약을 하다” have an appointment 는
"예약을해둔상태“를 의미한다.
★ prescription은 처방전이라는 뜻인데
의사가 처방한 약(medicine which a doctor orders for you) 이라는 뜻도 있다.
그러니까 take this prescription은 “이 처방약을 먹으라”는 뜻이다.
★ 체온을 얘기 할때 우리나라는 “섭씨(Centigrade)”를 사용하지만
외국에서는 “화씨(Fahrenheit)"를사용한다.

★ 병실을 한바퀴 돌아보자 는 Let's make a round of the ward 이다.
★ 중환자는 Intensive care Patient로 가능하지만 문어적인 표현이며,
회화에서 중환자는 Patient who is serious case
혹은 Patient on the danger list 이다.
★ 입원료 : Hospital expenses,
입원수속 : hospital admission procedures.
★ 입원환자 : inpatient,
장기입원환자 : long-stay patient.
★ 의료보험 : medical insurance.
의료보험 혜택 : medical insurance benefits.
의료보험 혜택자 : beneficiaries of medical insurance.
의료보험조합 : medical insurance union.
★ 의사를 Doctor 혹은 medical man이라고 하며 속어로 Doc. 이라고 줄여쓰기도 한다.
주로 내과의사를 Physician, 외과의사를 surgeon 이라고 한다.
내과 외과 일반을 담당하는 GP General Practitioner 의 약자이다.
★ 주먹을 쥐다는 Clench One's fist
(쥐었던 손을 펴다는 Open One's hand 이다.)
★ 몸을(허리를)를 펴다는 strech(straighten,unbend) oneself,
몸을(허리를)를 구부리다는 bend one's back / bend forward 이다.

7. 목(NECK) 부위 영어표현
▶보통 목을 말할 때는 목구멍(throat)을 말하는데 편도선(tonsil)관는 다르게 표현한다.
throat는 목구멍 즉 식도를 말하고 편도선(tonsil)은 사람의 입속 양쪽구석에
하나씩 있는 평평하고타원형인 임파선(lymphatic gland)을 말한다.
▶ 가래(phlegm, sputum)는 침(saliva)과는 성질이 다른데 묽은가래는 thin sputum,
된가래는 thick sputum, 피석인 가래는 bloody phlegm로 표현한다.

8.가슴(Chest)
▶가슴(breast,chest, bosom, bust[여자])에는 여러 가지의 영어단어가 사용되는데 breast는 특히 가슴의 앞쪽 유방을 가리키며 그러나 부인에게는 bosom을 사용하는 편이 좋다.
chest는가슴 전체를 말하며 heart는 추상적인 의미의 가슴-마음을 말한다. I have pain in the chest.( 가슴이 아파요.) My breast are tender (가슴이 아파요.)
There is a sudden sharp pain in my chest.
(가슴에갑작스러운 예리한 통증이 있습니다.) I have a prickling pain in my chest. (가슴이 따끔거립니다.) My chest throbs. (가슴이 쑤십니다.)

9.허리, 등(Back)
▶허리의 영어표현은 back, lower back, waist, small of the back등으로 표현하고
등은 back으로 표현하면 된다. I have sever pain in my back. (등이 심하게 아픕니다.) My back hurts sometimes. (때때로 등이 아픕니다.) I have pulling pain in my back. (등이 당겨지는 통증이 있습니다.) When I tried to lift a heavy thing, I felt my back snap.
(무거운 것을 들어올리려고 할 때 등이 부러지는 것 같았습니다.) My back itches. (등이 가렵습니다.) I have a rash on my back. (등에 발진이 생겼습니다.) I have stubborn boil on my back. (등에 딱딱한 종기가 생겼습니다.) I suffer from back pain. (요통으로 고생하고 있습니다.) I have lower back pain. (허리가 아픕니다.) The lower part of my back hurts so much I can't move.

▶Shoulder(어깨)

My hands often get numb. (손이 자주 마비됩니다.) I broke my arm. (팔이 부러졌습니다.) My arm hurts so much I can't move. (팔이 너무 아파서 움직일 수가 없어요.) I can't lift my arm. (팔을 들 수가 없어요.) The muscles of arms and legs ache. (팔다리 근육이 아파요.) I can't stretch my arm. (팔을 펼 수가 없어요.) My tennis elbow began to ache again. (팔꿈치가 다시 아프기 시작합니다.) I dislocated my elbow joint. (팔꿈치 관절이 탈구되었습니다.)
